The Days of Our Lives
I wrote the next two dedications in memory of the youngest daughter of
Bill and Sandy Caudill.
She was hit by a car and killed while caroling on a Christmas Eve.
A day will not go by that our hearts won’t grieve
A day in memory of our minds will forever be
The thoughts of someone whom everyone loves
Has now gone to Heaven, all must wait to again see
We love her and always will forever love her
We’re all feeling the tremendous pain and sorrow
It’s as if a part of our hearts was ripped away
“I’ll never again face another tomorrow!”
The tomorrows will come and the tomorrows will go
It happened. We don’t understand how it could.
All the questions asked but nobody answers….
Jesus would
The Unknown Happiness
The birds, their sweet song, singing high above
Not conscious or suspecting of our recent lost love
Light, soft, colorful feathers, bringing constant flight
Floating, weightless along the earth, out of eyesight
Thoughts of the same run throughout the mind
Pondering the questions, answers which one can’t find
Happiness, equal to sadness, so hard to explain
Feeling overwhelming grief, feeling all the loss…pain
The tears run, endless, falling hard, like a rock
Our hearts are all so closed, waiting for Jesus’ knock
The stories He must tell, the answers He must give
Why did you bring sadness, you didn’t let her live!
“My Children, open your hearts, leap with gladness.
For your sweet love, my child, no longer feels sadness.
Happiness and Joy, all your hearts must portray
You all shall find the unknown happiness…some day.”
The birds fly freely, happily across the sky
I ask myself why?
Happiness overpowers sadness, at any cost
Now that happiness resides in the heart, the love we lost.
Happiness and joy, all hearts must portray
For all shall find the unknown happiness…some day
(back to top)
Weakness
The cries of a friend that I don’t hear
“Confidence!”
Not making decisions because I’m not sure of the outcome
Gorgeous women I can’t even whisper an intelligent comment
Not being able to lift the laws of my own thoughts
Loneliness, I’m so lonely…
The Journey
A young man is traveling through a vast desert. He has no destination and has been on this journey since his time began. His skin is dry from the heat and he’s wearing a filthy robe with a hood covering his head. There has been no alteration since his journey began.
One day the young man comes across a small sand dune and in it’s middle is a tall wooden door standing upright. His bloodshot eyes gaze in curiosity at a sight his mind won’t digest. Slowly he approaches the door, reaches out a tired hand, and turns the knob. He finds that the door is unlocked and he gently pulls it open.
Beyond the door he sees a large valley covered with all varieties of trees and animals. A small stream glides through the thick green grass and the water is full of gold nuggets. Bird’s fly playfully above and fresh air cleanses the young man’s lungs. A large castle, seemingly constructed of crystal, gleams in the distance.
The young man gently closes the door without even bothering to step inside. His journey through the desert will go on an on until his death. He continues walking and his mind has no memory of a wooden door with a beautiful and majestic land behind it.
Life
How can one four letter word mean so much?
Love plays a big part
Intelligence is rather important
Future is the reason for existence
Emotion is the highest point reached
What’s the point?
There isn’t any, is there?
Some say the best part of life is living it. Yet, if there is nothing to live for, why bother?
Life seems happy, for as long as it goes on
Then before you know it, it will be gone
No more happiness
No more tears
No more love
No more fears
No more emotion to feel for one another
So, like I say,
Why even bother…

At times and incredible man can be so blind
Especially when it’s love he’s trying to find
To be set in his ways
To not see through the haze
To never see the gentleness and the kind
I can now wander freely within
Feeling no guilt for every little sin
This mind so complicated I fear
If I can listen, then I will hear
This Princess as I have found
Truth and Love is why we are bound
Destiny, Thought, Dreams, Future
Love, Kindness, Relationship, Together
For once in a life so full of material
A little boy lives who has met the girl
Facing the elements that bring two so close
Wanting forever, no more almost
Afraid of the darkness I have waded so deep
Not to lose this sweetness… but to keep
Pain I caused as you have well seen
Love I have given in ways so keen
Fantasy fulfilled and dreams have come true
No matter my thoughts I always will love you
Conquer your soul Mr. Jones
Please, see what is there
Will you realize why you fight?
And trust in how you care?

Friends…Lovers…
Different devices, sometimes complicated
They make my sane machine work smoothly and efficiently
Words true of the breath we live by
Inhaling goodness and life
Holding it in so strong, an exhale of thoughts renewed
World expectations are not always met
The path we choose is not always set
I see a beautiful woman inside a heart ready to bleed
Bleed with me and I will set you free
That Night
Our days seem numbered in this life of relationships lived. We drive our hearts at maximum speeds to get to the destiny quicker. Is it fate that finally brings a man and a woman together? Is it hate that finally softens the solid ground on which a relationship stands? Fate is not a choice. It’s a worldly event that seems to evade our control. Hate is a choice, but most use it as an excuse when the feelings run deep. Caring and then trying to not care…hurts. Filling a soul full comes easy to many, but it won’t ever completely empty. Courage…conquering depression, loneliness, a fight for what you believe in or what you once believed in. Every mind on this beautiful earth has a right to choose. Every soul on this beautiful earth has a right to feel. Every man and woman on this beautiful earth has a right to happiness. It’s just up to the man, the woman, the soul and the mind…to find it…

Thoughts from and Aging Man
I can forever remember the past. I try to remember the future.
He gazed longingly at the numerous stars above. The darkness is so vast, but not so dark as to engulf its bright attributes. Thoughts ran vaguely through his mind seemingly to never stop. The thoughts only ceased when the sword of life gutted deep into his soul. His blood burst forth, missing with the unclean. For now the disease was in him as well as all others. Life…why bother.
Claims of man climb the highest peaks to poses its natures. They strive to capture the impossible, which seems to constantly evade us. Not so difficult a task with training, but to obtain this training can be very costly.
Our souls are corrupt with values unexplained. We see ourselves inside a mirror grieving at the sight. One cannot digest the hideous and impure thoughts that clog our minds. They are ruthless and unchanged, so we blind our visions trying to hide. Cure for these devastations is beyond and we travel the impossible trails in their search. Trails that branch in so many places we feel lost. Why bother to obtain a cure?
Because one’s life may depend on it
(My life depended on it. The cure I found was Christ)

This is a poem I wrote to Washington Representative Jim Moeller on behalf of the 671st Reservist group serving in Iraq. Mr. Moeller wrote back:
“Thank you Mr. Jones for your poem. If I had any influence to bring them home, I would.”
I was there in 91’
To rid them out of Kuwait
No mission to long
No killing to wrong
But to some it was a piece of cake
But this is a different war
My brother he fights in Iraq
No where to go
It’s been 9 months or so
“Wonder where next they’ll attack?”
So I write you as a veteran
This fine America we serve true
The 671st
Bring them home from the worst
And we will all very much thank you
FAB Christmas Story
It’s Christmas Eve and all through the FAB
Not a creature was stirring but the rumors and blab
Wafers are moving from stockers with care
Hoping to bring BONUS so all of us can share
Little white dressed people all running around
Having only one goal… 6pm we are bound!
Waiting to get home and make this Holiday bright
To all a Merry Christmas and a Happy goodnight
