ARTIST'S DESCRIPTION OF PIECE

	The image to the left defines the use of Time within this drawing. The center white sphere is physically cut out of the original drawing. This is where an actual clock mechanism is installed into the original piece. For this particular clock the 12 hours are marked by a series of small spheres, indicated using the white arrows. The hours of 3, 6, 9, and 12 are shown using 3 larger spheres and for the other hours I used 4 smaller spheres. This is to signify the value of the number 3 in relation to MEAN being at right angles, as are all my stars.
On the previous page I discussed the relationship of “Spherical Connection” to the other chapters in my biography that define my struggle between myself and the divine, the black and the white, as well as the time I needed to find my way. I included this representation within the hour markings of this clock. Below is an extreme close-up view of the 3 O’clock hour marking.
Each hour marking is actually a separate addition to the original drawing. The 12 pieces were created as separate drawings then they were each cut out and glued into the proper positions to complete the clock face. Viewing the hour marks that cover a portion of a star better sees this. To define this ‘struggle’ as I mentioned I added a black and white checkerboard pattern along the outside edges of the cut out pieces. I don’t have a side view scan of this representation but the pattern is visible in the above blown up image as well as in the original piece. The white arrows show the pattern location.

My definitions that link to the Sphere are endless. This simple little shape is the reason for existence. “Spherical Connection” is yet another beginning to the many reasons and stories to how I became a professional artist. “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.”
